Art Is Easy to Make!

by Poochie Myers.
Lesson 17
If you have to struggle then you are doing something wrong.

Painting With Gesso

Loose canvas and or stretched canvas.Or use brown paper bag.

Spread esso all over the canvas. Use a large squeege to sread on Gesso.

Look at it, analize it and appreciate it.

Use a pallet knife to cut into the gesso and text material, and make designs all over. You can add sand if you want.

Add powdered pigment to this in areas and use pallet knife to make design as desired.

Use handle end of brush to draw into the wet Gesso.

Think of shapes. Use bottle shapes for instance, add some straight lines if you feel like it. Don't be fancy. Make the bottles all related.

Use charcoal to enhance the design. Paint into it with brush. Make it light and dark. Make subtle tones. Paint on bright colors.

Stay in your mood.

Lay a string on top in a fun design. Remove string when almost dry.

Pour ink into some of these areas if you want.

Use more Gesso to make lighter areas and enhance the design.

Remember that blue rises up and red sinks down and yellow is the only color that moves around.

Finish with: Gloss or matt Dammar varnish.

Use different materials for each painting. Be inventive.
