Always tell a story
Alphabet – draw your name over and over. Notice the pattern these words make. Color in the patterns. Use this design to begin any work of art. What is your story?


Trees, trunk branches, roots,
Don’t copy a tree but show what it does. Branches cross over.
Add color of tree – use muted colors with up and down stroke.
As soon as the idea comes then STOP – it’s just a sketch. What is your story?

With pastel, make small shapes in color.
Add an invasion color.
Think complementry
Think of shapes first – draw
Rub off the pastel with cloth Start new on the ruins of the first one.
Back to basics...look at the shapes – remind you of what? What is your story?
