A sculptor of modernist figures in abstract lyrical style, Robert Edward Kuhn was a pioneering artist of welded sculpture, beginning in the early 1950s. He exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago in the 1930s, and during his life-time had 28 one-man shows and received over 75 awards and prizes. In 2004, he had a one-man exhibition at the Fredrick Meijer Sculpture Garden in his native Grand Rapids, Michigan. |
